    another reason not to do an evaporator only on r22 is that it uses mineral oil and newer 410a units use POE oil. They don't work well together and therefore better to do all at same time because it is hard to remove all the oil from the evaporator.

      I wonder how efficient your 1979 heat pump is? If you had replaced it in the mid-90s or between 2000 and 2019, it would likely have been more cost-efficient. However, it probably has sentimental value for you.

    • @greyhoundude6112
      @greyhoundude6112 12 годин тому

      @@WWHVAC - Nah, no "sentimental value" for a heat pump or a furnace! Last year the heat pump needed a shot of refrigerant, which restored its performance. I have the furnace inspected every other year and it receives a clean bill of health. I do plan on replacing both units within the next couple of years.

    I have a saying that a lot of people don't like but for me it's true. Poor and cheap people are bad for business. They always want to take shortcuts. They want you to install their Ebay and Amazon bought crap. I turn everyone one of them down. Some yell and scream. Curse me out and I just laugh and sometimes I egg them on. I tell them I can't give them a warranty and they all say that's OK but you know they don't really mean it. Some ask me to come out and just do it my way and they return their parts. 95% of my customers are great. It's the 5% that ruin the day.

      Thank you for sharing your perspective. It's definitely a challenge to balance providing quality service with managing customer expectations, especially when it comes to installing parts from non-reputable sources. We always strive to prioritize quality and safety, which often means using trusted parts and equipment that we can stand behind. This helps ensure that we can provide reliable warranties and the best outcomes for our customers. It’s great to hear that the majority of your customers appreciate your professionalism and commitment to quality. Let's keep focusing on those positive experiences and delivering top-notch service!

    Me personally would rather use the micron gauge rather than vacuum pump gauge. I like the method of pulling the vacuum from one side of system like the suction line, and hooking up my micron gauge to the other side the liquid to get a reading of the full system. But at the same time that’s an expensive vacuum pump so you want it to work. I don’t blame you.

    • @WWHVAC
      @WWHVAC День тому

      I agree with your setup. The Micron Gauge on the vacuum is an additional tool that allows you to see that the pump is working and pulling down.

  • @victoruribe885

    Why have a vacuum pump with a built-in vacuum gauge and other pseudo electronically useful things. Elitech is, in my opinion, one of the most generic brands for HVACR. Why not invest completely in well-known brands? I have had a CPS vacuum pump for more than 4 years and it has never had a failure. obviously carrying out all its maintenance on time and keeping it in a hard box for transportation inside the van. cheap is expensive!

    • @WWHVAC
      @WWHVAC День тому

      Thank you for sharing your experience with CPS vacuum pumps! It's great to hear about your positive results. Elitech offers unique advantages, like built-in vacuum gauges and other electronic features that streamline workflow and reduce the need for additional tools. These features ensure you can see that it's effectively pulling a vacuum, providing real-time feedback on performance. They also provide a cost-effective option for reliable equipment, ideal for those starting out or expanding their toolkit without breaking the bank. While CPS and other well-known brands are excellent, Elitech's innovation, convenience, and affordability make them a competitive choice for many HVACR professionals.

    I require half down for big jobs or installs. I've been fighting over price, had to chop off some money just so we could secure a warranty coil replacement. She still asked if we could lower it. Sadly i live in an area where people live outside their means. Always hated residential for this purpose. Tis why I'm working for the "A" license in Florida so I can get more commercial work. Less fighting there

    • @WWHVAC
      @WWHVAC День тому

      I've learned over time that when customers persistently try to negotiate down your prices, it's often best to take your services elsewhere. Here are some red flags to watch out for: Constant Haggling: If a customer continuously tries to bargain despite already receiving a fair quote, it might indicate they don’t value your expertise and quality of work. Comparing Unfairly: When customers compare your detailed, professional services with cheaper, lower-quality alternatives to justify a price reduction. Ignoring Value: If a customer overlooks the value and benefits your services provide and focuses solely on the cost. Unrealistic Expectations: Expecting premium services at a bargain price can lead to dissatisfaction and disputes down the line. Disrespect for Professionalism: A lack of respect for your professional assessment and the market rates you've established. In these situations, it’s often better to move on and find clients who appreciate the quality and value of your services.
